These bars don’t go through the ductile to the brittle transition when it is cooled to the liquid hydrogen temperature. This is a marked contrast to several ferrous materials that are ductile at the squat temperature instead of the hoisted strength. Usually, it is provided to the buyers at specifications varying in dimensions, standards, diameters, size, length, finishes, and forms.
Monel K500 alloy is the precipitation-hardenable copper and nickel alloy that is combining the good corrosion resistance property. It is having added advantage of high tensile strength and high hardness. These amplified attributes are acquired by the addition of the alloying elements like titanium and aluminum to the base of nickel-copper and by the thermal processing that is used for effecting precipitation, called as aging or age hardening.
The Monel K500 Hex Bar is strong and is used in the production equipment for oil and gas, propellers, pump shafts and in centrifugal pump parts. The material has minimum yield strength of 690MPa and minimum tensile strength of 965MPa. These very high strength values allow the 2.4375 Alloy K500 Rod and other types to be used in high velocity fluid lines as they do not crack nor do they corrode under harsh conditions. The dimensions of the bars range from 100mm to 3000mm and the diameters of different types range from 0.1mm to 100mm depending on the different standards.
